Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Hematology Oncology Inpatient
UT Southwestern is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider II for the Pediatric Hematology Oncology IP team in Dallas. This role involves joining a multidisciplinary team at the Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, one of the largest pediatric hematology/oncology programs in the U.S. The APP will provide advanced clinical expertise and compassionate, family-centered care to critically ill patients in inpatient, procedural, and ambulatory settings.

- The Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center is one of the largest pediatric hematology/oncology programs in the United States.
- Multidisciplinary team includes world-class hematologists, oncologists, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Practice settings include inpatient, procedural, and ambulatory.
- APPs practice at the top of their license, serving as essential members of the care team.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat critically ill patients.
- Develop and manage treatment plans.
- Perform advanced procedures.
- Conduct and document comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including psychological status.
- Synthesize data and utilize evidence to develop, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies/results.
- Demonstrate proficiency in technical/procedural skills, as appropriate based on specialty and training.
- Provide relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures.
- Facilitate/participate in quality related initiatives through planned group processes, workshops, seminars, and staff meetings, to improve clinical and system practice performance.

- New Grad Rate $136,500

Requirements
- Master's degree in nursing or Higher degree and Documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program and Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
- OR Master's degree graduate of a Master's or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Advanced Practice RN (CPNP-AC) by Texas State Board of Nursing upon hire and authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
- OR National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and certified licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board (PA-C) upon hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified by the American Heart Association or Red Cross based on the UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers upon hire.
- Pediatric hematology oncology provider experience preferred.
- New grads with previous hematology oncology experience and/or who completed a clinical rotation in hematology oncology may be considered.
