Holiday Acres Campground is a busy family campground located in North Scituate, RI. Operating for over 70 years, Holiday Acres Campground offers short term and seasonal camping to all types of RV's along with cabin rentals, special events, and activities throughout the season. We offer a fun, fast-paced, and casual work environment with competitive hourly pay and a friendly, family-oriented team.

Our Office Assistant will handle the day to day operations of the campground office and camp store. The Office Assistant is the primary point of contact with guests and will be able to handle or direct all transactions and needs of our campers.

The office is open six days per week April 15th to October 15th. The office opens at 10am each day and can close between 5pm and 8pm, depending on the day. This position is currently part-time, approximately 20 - 28 hours per week, 1 weekend day necessary. Retirees welcome.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Answer phone calls.

- Write and distribute email, letters, faxes and forms.

- Maintain filing system.

- Update and maintain office policies and procedures.

- Order office and camp store supplies.

- Update and maintain customer contact lists.

- Book reservations.

- Check in and maintain camper paperwork.

- Invoice and receive payments in QuickBooks.

- Receive cash, credit card, and check payments.

- Provide general support to campers and visitors.

- Mandatory: fill propane tanks and dispense wood bundles.

- Keep Manager and other staff up to date on any customer issues, special requests, etc.

- Other duties as determined by the Manager.

Requirements:

- Positive attitude and warm, friendly demeanor.

- Proven experience as an office assistant or a customer service representative.

- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.

- Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machine.

- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, in particular)

- Working knowledge of QuickBooks is necessary.

- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.

- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.

- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

- High School degree; an additional qualification as an Administrative Assistant will be a plus.

- Must be able to pass a thorough background check.
