Job Overview
We are a small family farm, practicing organic farming in South County Rhode Island!

We are seeking one or two motivated and energetic and dependable Farm Helper for our farm. In this vital role, you will assist with daily farm operations and crop management. Your enthusiasm and hands-on approach will contribute to the smooth running of farm activities, ensuring a productive and safe environment.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in organic farming practices while working in a low-stress outdoor setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support planting, cultivating, harvesting, and greenhouse activities for crops and horticultural projects
  • Assist maintenance work at the farm (fences, irrigation, etc.)
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of barns, greenhouses, storage areas, and workspaces
  • Assist with farmers market preparations
  • Strong attention to safety protocols when working with tools and fertilizers
  • Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to planting
  • Assist general farm practices

PLUS

  • Abilities to operate farm machinery such as tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems, and other heavy equipment
  • Handle heavy lifting tasks safely
  • Knowledge of horticulture, greenhouse management, irrigation systems, and greenhouses is advantageous
  • Prior experience in farming or agriculture is a plus, but we will train
